Review of Fight Night: Round 4

Fight Night: Round 4All EA had to do was make a few improvements:

A) Better graphics, check
B) Better training mode, failed
C) smoother more realistic boxing, failed
D) Make the career more in depth, failed

I have played the FN series since it came out. Each time a new one came out the improvements were ten fold. I remember when you couldn't move while you block.... FN3 was close to perfection. So WHY did EA scratch everything that was worked on so hard for?

Keep the buttons for people who like them. If it makes them better I have always welcomed the faster more random opponent. Skill is out the window on this game. Just throw 100+ jabs/straights per round.... fun. The speed of the game feels like Ready to Rumble. Big punches no longer change the momentum of the fight. Stamina is ridiculous in this game. The recovery system in between rounds is not intuitive at all. Final note, EA stripped down the Total Punch Control and killed it. Punches are thrown 5 seconds later, or not at all. The TPC is not as precise as the other FN games. EA had more time between games from 3 to 4 I thought I would get the ultimate boxing game that would be fun 5 years from now. I will wait for Fight Night 5.
